  • From what time is the room available on the day of arrival? Is it possible to request an early check-in?

    In general, rooms are available from 15:00. In case of early arrival you can leave your luggage at the reception and explore Varenna, but if the room should be ready we will be happy to accompany you in advance.

  • At what time should the room be vacated on the day of departure?

    On the day of departure the room must be vacated by 11:00 am.

  • Is breakfast included?

    Please check the notes of your reservation to find out if breakfast is included or not. Breakfast is served in the hotel’s restaurant and terrace from 8.00 am to 10.00 am. It is not possible to anticipate the breakfast time.

  • Is a crib available?

    On request and subject to availability you can book a crib at € 20.00 per day for children from 1 to 3 years.

  • Is there a hair dryer in the room?

    Each room is equipped with hairdryer.

  • Are the rooms equipped with air conditioning?

    All rooms in the hotel and Casa Rossa are equipped with air conditioning and in most of them also ceiling fan. Casa 3 Archi and Casa Gialla have instead, portable fans.

  • Are pets allowed?

    Small pets are allowed in the rooms without any supplement. However, they are forbidden to enter the breakfast room and restaurant.

  • Where can I find an adapter?

    We have a limited number of adapters available, to be requested at reception.

  • Is the tourist tax included?

    The tourist tax is not included in the price, it must be paid at check-out. The amount of the tax is € 2.00 per person per night for the hotel and € 1.80 per person per night for Casa Gialla, Casa 3 Archi and the whole building of Casa Rossa per day up to a maximum of 7 consecutive nights. Children 0-6 years are exempted.

  • Does the Hotel have a restaurant?

    The Hotel has the La Vista Restaurant and terrace, also open to the public, so we do not provide half board service, but we offer a rich a la carte menu by reservation.

    Open from Monday to Sunday from 19.00 to 22.00. Closed on Tuesdays.

  • Do you prepare gluten-free or lactose-free meals? Is there a vegan menu?

    Our restaurant staff is well trained on the ingredients used in the preparation of each of our dishes and can assist you with any questions you may have about food intolerances or allergies. We kindly ask you to inform us of any allergies or intolerances when making your reservation and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

    Since we do not have a separate kitchen for those with food allergies or intolerances, we cannot guarantee the total absence of contamination.

    Our menu presents some vegetarian and vegan choices.

  • Are the rooms accessible to people with disabilities?

    Since our accommodations are historic homes with steps, we are not equipped for people with disabilities or limited mobility.

  • Do the rooms have a safe?

    All rooms are equipped with an electronic safe protected by a numeric code.

  • Does the hotel offer a laundry service?

    The laundry service is operated by outsiders and is available from Monday to Friday (excluding holidays). Garments delivered before 09:30 am are returned usually within 24 hours. A laundromat is located 50 meters from the hotel, just before Piazza San Giorgio.

  • Does the Hotel have an internet connection?

    The Hotel and all apartments have a Wi-Fi connection. Being located in an ancient village not completely digitalized we can only offer a standard connection and not broadband.

  • Does the Hotel have parking?

    The hotel has 3 parking spaces in the municipal garage Autosilos located in Via Polvani 1, just 300 meters walk from the hotel. The garage is open 24 hours a day. The cost is 15 € per day, with compulsory reservation.

    On the day of departure, the car can be left in the garage until 11:00 am. The parking lot is also open to the public with over 500 spaces available on 4 floors at Euro 20.00 per night. No reservation is required.

  • Can I reach the hotel by car?

    The hotel cannot be reached by car, as it is located in the narrow streets of the village. You can approach the hotel to unload your luggage in the parallel street above Via XX Settembre where we are located. We recommend that you leave your car parked only for the minutes necessary to collect your parking pass or unload your luggage. See the Where We Are section for more information.

  • Is there a babysitting service available?

    Babysitting is available upon request.

  • Are there non-smoking rooms?

    The common areas of the hotel and all our rooms are non smoking, as required by the regulations of the Italian Government.

  • Is it possible to swim in the lake?

    Yes, there are three free beaches and a lido with entrance fee.

  • How far is the Hotel from the lake?

    The lake is 20 meters from our hotel.

  • How can I pay?

    We accept cash, Bancomat and credit cards Visa, Mastercard. We do not accept American Express.

  • Where can I find the timetables of boats and ferries?

  • Did I forget something in the hotel? How can I recover it?

    If we find lost or forgotten items, you can contact us and request a pick-up and shipment at the expense of the recipient. The hotel declines all responsibility in the event that personal items are not found.

  • What is the nearest train station?

    The nearest train station is the main station of VARENNA ESINO TARTAVELLE TERME which is about 15 minutes on foot, 5 minutes by cab.

  • What is the nearest airport?

    The airports that operate on Milan (Malpensa, Linate, Orio Al Serio) are the closest to Varenna.
